Best British Beaches: Talacre Beach
Talacre Village in North Wales is set beside miles of world-famous golden sand dunes, an award winning beach, an RSPB nature reserve & Special Area of Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an iconic lighthouse (built 1776) most recently seen on TV in Dulux's national ad campaign.
The 870 mile Wales Coastal Path also runs through Talacre (world's first national coastal path) and was voted by Lonely Planet as the world's greatest region in a best-in-travel 2012 guide.
Point of Ayr Lighthouse is said to be one of the most haunted structures in North Wales. Many sightings of a keeper on top of the lighthouse have been reported. Mediums have described sensing a presence of a man who had his heart broken.
Don’t let the ghosts put you off visiting the beach. With long expanses of sand and an abundance of nature, Point of Ayr Lighthouse sits on Talacre beach, the ideal spot for a long, peaceful walk.
